Athletics
Florida Ruffin Ridley School offers a variety of athletic opportunities for students. Cross Country (fall) and Track & Field (spring) include town-wide races held during the school day.
Friday leagues—such as football (DFL), dodgeball, and floor hockey—are open to all interested students in grades 6–8 and focus on inclusive, school-based competition.
Students in grades 7–8 can try out for interscholastic teams including volleyball, basketball, and indoor soccer. Practices are typically held on Tuesdays, with games on Wednesdays against other Brookline schools (home and away). Basketball teams may practice twice per week, with games also scheduled on Wednesdays. The season concludes with semi-finals and finals that build school spirit and community.
